The caregiving journey carries its own ebb and flow—days of strength, days of tenderness, and everything in between. Through it all, love remains constant, reshaping itself, deepening, and guiding the way forward.

This February, we honor the caregivers whose love is resilient, compassionate, and deeply human. Your care is a powerful expression of love, and it matters more than words can say.

go get a File of Life and fill it out!

What is a File of Life?

The File of Life is an important safety resource for your home. Kept on your refrigerator, it contains critical information such as medications, medical conditions, and emergency contacts. In an emergency, it provides first responders with essential medical details when you may be unable to communicate due to a health emergency—and when your loved one with dementia cannot do so either. It is recommended to have one File of Life for the caregiver and a separate one for the person living with dementia.

Where can I get a File of Life?

These are magnets that can be obtained for free from local fire departments, police stations, ambulance services, hospitals, or senior centers.

✨New Program Announcement✨

We are pleased to announce that Susan Raychard, Certified Dementia Practitioner, will be with us four days per month beginning in February. We have two new programs added to our calendar—these additional programs are made possible by funding from the Ludke Foundation. 💗

Susan is now offering dementia assessments for the loved ones of our current clients to help these families better understand the individual’s current stage of cognitive change or dementia.

Assessments are conducted in our office, offering a comfortable, non-clinical setting. Each assessment includes a clear, written report and practical recommendations to support daily routines, improve safety, and enhance quality of life at home. We are excited to report that these next 2 months are already booked which tells us the need is there for this community!

As a reminder, these services are for CURRENT CLIENTS ONLY so if you are in need of support for you or your family and have not connected with us yet, please call our office and set up an initial consultation!

Wow! What a delicious luncheon we had recently—provided and catered by Atria Kennebunk! We had a hearty lasagna lunch with some warm and comforting peach gobbler!
