
Gervaise grew up in Cumberland, Maine and graduated from the University of Maine Farmington with a degree in Rehabilitation and spent a good deal of her early career as a Recreation Therapist. She found her true passion, working with Individual’s with Developmental Disabilities. She joined Waban in Sanford, as the Camp Director in 1988 and retired from Waban in 2022, as the Deputy Director, in charge of the agency’s fundraising, event planning and community relations. She joined the team at A Place to Start in 2023 assisting with our fundraising efforts. She is passionate about the work we do. You can find her out and about sharing our mission, to provide essential services and resources to individuals living with Alzheimer’s disease and their family caregivers. When not working she enjoys yoga, the beach, and a good book!
