Practical Ways to Simplify Phone Calls & Help Maintain Independence

1. Use photo dialing tablets or phones

• Devices like the Livindi tablet (monthly Subscription), Memory cell phones, or big-button picture phones let the person call by pressing a photo of a loved one instead of remembering numbers.

2. Set up auto-answer or “drop-in” calling

• Some tablets (Livindi, Alexa Show, GrandPad) allow a family to start a video call without the person having to answer. This avoids missed calls or confusion.

3. Keep the device in a consistent place

• Mount it on a stand or place it by their favorite chair so they always know where it is.

4. Simplify choices

• Program only a few important contacts with names or photos, instead of long contact lists.
